I woke up today to the tragic news of Scott Dinsmore‘s passing. Scott was a renowned coach, leader and the founder of flourishing community called Live Your Legend. His mission was to inspire people to find and do work they love. Scott was young and his passing was unexpected.
This sad news is a reminder that life is short. Most people lead a life of quiet desperation, doing things they don’t really enjoy, hoping that some day things will change. But it doesn’t work like this. For things to change you have to change. And for most people this means some day becomes never and a whole life is wasted.
Scott’s message was simple: it always seems impossible until it’s done. Find your gifts anyway and go make a difference. Surround yourself with people that inspire you and support your dreams. If everyone would be doing this the world would be a much better place.
Obviously this is a message I resonate with.
Today is Monday. The day most hated by the majority of people who tolerate a life they hate. In the honor of Scott’s memory I want to share his TEDx talk with you and urge you to take a good hard look at your life, look at what you should no longer tolerate, look for your gifts, your talents and ask yourself if you’re doing all you can to bring them to life and if not, what you can do to really make the most of them?
